Her Story

Seventy years of grace.

A life of faith, family, and quiet strength.

i.

The beginning.

Every life worth celebrating has a beginning worth telling. This is where the family shares hers. Where she was born, the home that raised her, the values that took root early and never left.

A few sentences about the girl she was before she was anyone's mother, grandmother, or friend. The things she loved, the dreams she carried, the faith that was planted in her young.

She has spent seventy years giving. Today, we give back to her.

The Family
ii.

A life built.

The middle years. The marriage, the children, the work of her hands. The home she made and the table she always kept full. The long days and the quiet sacrifices that no one was asked to notice but everyone remembers now.

This is the place for the family to name the things she is known for. Her cooking. Her prayers. Her laugh. The way she could fix anything with patience and a little time. The people she carried when they could not carry themselves.

Seventy years is a long time to love a family well. She has done exactly that.

iii.

And today.

Now there are grandchildren who know her as the softest place to land. There are friends who have walked decades beside her. There is a whole community shaped, in ways large and small, by one woman's steady love.

Today we gather to say what she may be too humble to hear often enough: thank you. For all of it. Happy seventieth birthday.
